Pa Nou App LLC ("Pa Nou," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have regarding your information when you use the Pa Nou mobile application (the "App").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve the App.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Email address — collected when you create an account.
• Language preference — collected when you select your preferred language (English, Haitian Creole, or French).
• Business listing submissions — name, address, category, phone number, hours, and any photos you submit when using the Submit a Business feature.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous usage data — we use PostHog to collect anonymized information about how the App is used.
• Device information — basic device type and operating system version.
• Location data — collected only when you actively use the Near Me feature and only with your explicit permission.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

Pa Nou does not collect immigration status, government-issued identification numbers, financial information, health or medical information, or any information from children under the age of 13.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To display the App in your preferred language.
• To save and display your favorited listings.
• To review and process business listing submissions.
• To understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
• To communicate with you about your account or listings if necessary.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to advertisers or any other third party.

3. Location Data

Location data is handled with particular care at Pa Nou given our community's needs.

3.1 Near Me (GPS-Based)

If you choose to use the Near Me feature, your device's GPS coordinates are used in that moment only. Pa Nou does not store your GPS coordinates in our database.

3.2 Set My Location (Manual)

You may search by manually entering a city, state, or ZIP code. This option requires no GPS and shares no location data.

3.3 What We Do Not Do With Location

• We do not store your GPS coordinates in our database.
• We do not track your movements over time.
• We do not sell or share your location data with any third party.
• We do not share location data with any government agency or law enforcement entity voluntarily.

4. Third Party Services

The App uses Google Maps, Supabase, PostHog, and Mailchimp. We do not authorize any of them to sell your data. You can review each service's privacy policy on their respective websites.

5. Data Sharing

Pa Nou does not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only with service providers necessary to operate the App, or where required by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary. If you delete your account, your personal information is deleted from our systems within 30 days.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at contact@panouapp.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA.

8. Children's Privacy

Pa Nou is not directed at children under the age of 13. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will immediately terminate their account.

9. Data Security

All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/SSL. Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email before they take effect.

11. Governing Language

This Privacy Policy is provided in English, Haitian Creole, and French. In the event of any conflict, the English version shall control.
